Lee Dae-sung is seeking overseas expansion after consulting with his team, Gas Corporation. Gas Corporation said, “Lee Dae-sung’s overseas challenge is of great significance and value for the development of Korean basketball.”
Lee Dae-seong, who played 51 regular league games this season, averaged 18.1 points per game, the most among Korean players. In the 2021-2022 season, when he was playing for Goyang Orion (now Day One), he ranked first in the average score (17 points) in the regular league for domestic players.
Lee Dae-seong, the top scorer in Korea, could look for a large contract in the free agent market. However, he chose a challenge for his dream rather than a stable future. Lee Dae-seong, who prioritizes advancing into the Australian professional basketball league, is also receiving interest from the Japanese B-League. An official in the basketball world said, “The ransom is the key, but there are (overseas) teams that Lee Dae-sung can go to if he is not limited by the salary.”
After dropping out at Chung-Ang University, Lee Dae-sung played for a year in the National Collegiate Sports Association (NCAA) Division 2 Brigham Young University basketball team, and in 2017, while at Hyundai Mobis, he voluntarily dropped out and challenged the G League, a lower league in the NBA.
If his overseas stage experience comes first, there is a possibility that Lee Dae-sung will leave money and take on a challenge this time as well.
