Christopher Morel (24), a minor league ‘monster hitter’, has risen to the big leagues.

On the 9th (Korean time), MLB.com, the official homepage of the Major League Baseball (MLB), reported that the Chicago Cubs had sent outfielder Nelson Velasquez (25) to Triple-A in the minor leagues and called Morell up. Cubs manager David Ross called Morel “literally the best offensive player in the minor leagues right now.”토토사이트

The grades speak for themselves. Morel’s triple-A record this season was 29 games, batting average of 0.330 (38 hits in 115 at-bats), 11 homers and 31 RBIs. He has an OPS of 1.156, a combined on-base percentage (0.425) and slugging percentage (0.730). His minor league record (6 years) was a batting average of 0.250, 52 home runs and 208 RBIs. He hit 17 home runs in Double-A in 2021.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Morel is an all-weather resource who can play center field, second base, shortstop, and third base. He made his big league debut last year, posting a batting average of .235 (89 hits in 379 at-bats), 16 homers and 47 RBIs in 113 games. His 16 home runs were fourth on the team following Patrick Wisdom (25), Wilson Contreras (22) and Ian Happ (17). He showed formidable punching power, but he opened the season at Triple-A. It didn’t take long to prove its worth.
